Files received as e-mail attachments are often 'blocked', or prevented from being opened since they could contain viruses or spyware. If the Attached File Extension is '.exe'
OE removed access to the following unsafe attachments in your mail:
When you open the e-mail with the attached publication, you may see a message similar to the one above. In this case, you will need to allow OE (Outlook Express) to reveal the attached SOFI file so that you can save it, as follows:
1) In Outlook Express, click on 'Tools', then 'Options', then 'Security'.
2) Uncheck the block 'Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus'.
3) Open the e-mail again and you will see that the file now appears in the Attachment window.
4) Right click on the attachment. Click on 'Save As...' and save it to e.g. 'My Documents'. Alternatively, drag and drop to some other folder, or your Desktop.
5) Finally, an importantly, return to Outlook Express to restore your security settings by checking the box 'Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus'.
Problems with saving the attached file
If you encounter difficulties in saving the attached file, it
may be due to your firewall or anti-virus program. In this case,
you can either:
1. Disable your firewall and anti-virus programs until after
the file has been saved on your computer, or
2. Follow these steps, which may be slightly different on your
computer:
When you click on the e-mail attachment, you may see the following
message:

Click on the 'Open' box, which may cause your firewall or anti-virus
program to generate a warning message like this:

Click on 'Save as...', and save the file to a folder
of your choice, for example 'My Documents'.
When you click on the icon to open the file, you
may be greeted with:

Click 'OK' to close the window and right click on
the file icon to open the Properties Dialogue box, thus:

Click on 'Unblock', then 'Apply' and 'OK'
When you next click on the Icon, the file will open
and the publication will load normally, and every subsequent time.
How to open the book
After you enter your password and press return, or click 'OK', the front cover of the book will appear. To open the book, simply click on the front cover image.
If the Attached File Extension is '.zip'
1) Save the file onto your computer.
2) Click Start, click My Computer, and navigate to the file that you saved.
3) Right-click the file that you saved, and then click Properties.
4) Click Unblock near the bottom of the dialog box.
